Quiznos has added a 2 for $5 deal. For a limited time, "Choose 2" of the following for $5 at participating Quiznos locations:
- Bullet
- Sammie
- Chopped Salad
- Bowl of Soup
- $1 off a regular or $2 off a large sub (so coupon for exclusions)
- 50% off "Choose 2" with purchase of regular fountain drink
Sadly, I won't be taking advantage of this deal though we do enjoy Quiznos food. A Sammy and a bowl of soup sounds great to me! You may be thinking "Oh, she doesn't have a Quiznos near her." Actually we have one right here in town -- conveniently located too. So, why am I not going to enjoy this deal even though I would really like it? Because of the unethical business practices of the franchise owner in my town. I wasn't too happy with the fact that he won't take coupons so that already greatly reduced the number of times that I would eat there. However, the last time that we decided to eat their despite his coupon policy, we were overcharged. He has his cash registered programmed to charge more than the prices he has listed on the signboard. When I complained to the cashier that that is not what is listed on the sign, she shrugged her shoulders and stated that was how much the cash register says it is! When I said that is illegal and I would complain to the attorney general's office about the consumer fraud, she suddenly went to get someone to override the register price and give us the stated price. She also indicated that he had already been reported to the attorney general several times but hasn't bothered to fix the register! I bet he is expecting most people not to notice the overcharge but I learned long ago to estimate what I expect the cost to be before I ever approach the cash register. So he may make an extra 60¢ per sub on many customers but he is alienating those customers who do notice. We will not return as long as he still owns the restaurant.
Am I telling you this to warn you not to go to Quiznos? Absolutely not! We will still go eat at other Quiznos just not the one in our town. I am telling you this to make you aware that you really need to watch the cash register to ensure that everything rings up correctly not just at Target, Walmart, and grocery stores but at fast food restaurants too! Okay, I will climb down from my soapbox now.
