Earth Day Deal: Belkin Power Saving Strip

One of the things that I did a couple of years ago to reduce our expenses was to really focus on reducing our energy costs. I had read about phantom energy wasters like leaving cell phone chargers plugged in and other appliances plugged in that are on standby. I began unplugging things like the coffee maker, microwave, cable box, etc. when not in use. In areas where we had multiple items plugged in, I used power strips to make it easier to turn off multiple items at once by turning off the entire power strip. I expected to save some money but I was amazed at how much money we ended up saving. Our energy bills were reduced by about 30%! This did take effort on my part but the savings were definitely worth it.

Amazon is offering a great Lightning deal that can help in reducing your energy costs. For a limited time today, Belkin Conserve Switch F7C01110q AV Energy-Saving AV Surge with Remote is being offered for just $29.99. It even has a remote to make it easier to turn off the power strip! I have priced these in stores and they have been generally around $39.99. If you are interested in purchasing this item, act quickly as there are limited quantities at this price. I just ordered one for myself. Of course, I ordered it using the Amazon gift cards which I received from Swagbucks so the out of pocket cost to me was zero!
